Progress:
- Facilitated disaster assessments (heavy rain and flooding impact) in Karonga, Nkhotakota, Kasungu and Lilongwe districts through the NRTs.
- Supported the ministry of health in the prevention and control of cholera in Nkhotakota,Mwanza,Mulanje districts.
- Faciitated distribution of NFIs to affected households within camps in Nkhotakota district reaching out to 439 households
- Facilitated distribution of cash for livelihoods and basic needs targeting 740 households in Nkhotakota each receiving MK100,000.00 multipurpose cash
- Support coordination meetings at the national and district level on cholera prevention and control.
- Support prevention and control of Cholera in Mwanza, Mulanje, Nkhotakota and Mangochi.
- Supported 340 people with MHPSS
Project Goal: The overall objective of the action is to provide lifesaving food assistance to the food insecure households in Mzimba district in order to prevent deterioration of the food insecurity.
Specific Objectives
- Provide food assistance in forms of CVA to the most vulnerable households.
- Strengthening community resilience through promotion of Livelihood and Risk Reduction activities to protect productive assets of the targeted households.
Number of people reached: 650 households (3,250 people)
Start and end dates: 01.02.-30.04.2024 (3 months)
Target districts: Zomba (Tas Ngwerelo, Mwambo and Kumtumanje)
Total Budget: MK 198,000,000.00
Progress:
- Conducted verification and registration of 650 households to receive cash and agriculture inputs.
- Facilitated Cash distributions to 650(403f and 247M) beneficiaries and integrated some key messages on PGI, Food utilization during the distributions.
- Facilitated training of 30 lead farmers in good agricultural practices.
- Facilitate distribution of agriculture inputs to 550 households
- Facilitated training of district and community based social mobilization committees.
Project Goal: This DREF allocation aims at supporting 12,375 people in need affected by Flooding disasters by providing indirect support to 12,375people and direct support to 3,000 people in Nkhotakota, Karonga, Kasungu and Lilongwe Districts for a consecutive period of 3 months.

Progress:
- Facilitated distribution of Non-Food Items to 546 households following the floods that affected people in Karonga
- Districbted cash to 1,000 households(600 received MK400,000.00 for shelter rehabilitation and basic needs and 400 received MK150,000 for basic needs)
- Facilitated procurement of WASH items to support affected houiseholds
- Integrated PGI and CEA into all activities
