The Health and Care Programmes focuses on, health emergencies, first aid services, child health and nutrition, and water sanitation and hygiene promotion and Blood Donor Recruitment. Disaster Management The programme provides a holistic approach to man-made and natural disasters and offers timely response countrywide for immediate relief and long-term recovery. MRCS responds to disasters mostly caused by floods, hailstorms, cholera, drought and population movement (refugee and tracing services). MRCS society carries out livelihood recovery activities such as 2019-2020, Food Security, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation. Branch/Division, Volunteer, Youth and Gender The are 33 Branches/Divisions of the Malawi Red Cross Society. The Divisions are present in all the districts of Malawi. Each and every division is run by its own leadership, that is elected in every four years. Under the branches/divisions are the Sub-divisions that are present in every village. The Sub-divisions are the lowest MRCS structures which are also point of entries for volunteers. Comms & Advocacy Malawi Red Cross Society has the communications unit established as a support service supporting the National Society Headquarters, Projects and all the Divisions of the Red Cross with all communication related interventions, Production of IEC and Visibility materials, publicity, Website and social media management and Press office functions through media coordination. Resource Mobilization Malawi Red Cross Society as a humanitarian organization depend on well-wishers for donations to support the vulnerable communities and its operations. In a bid to scale up the resource mobilization drive, MRCS developed a Resource Mobilization Strategy to guide the drive.
