MRCS provided First aiders to support a freedom March, conducted a training on Psychosocial Support and awarded outstanding journalists on Disaster Risk Management Reporting Category.

This is a commitment that MRCS through Secretary General Chifundo made last year, where it among others started sponsoring awards on Disaster Risk Management category.

Before the awards, MRCS conducted a training session on Psychosocial Support aimed at equipping journalists with knowledge and skills on how to manage their Mental well-being especially this time when the country is preparing to go to polls, with many stressful incidences anticipated for them to inform Malawians.

Chairperson of the Media Institute for Southern Africa – MISA Malawi Golden Matonga thanked Malawi Red Cross.

“Malawi Red Cross joined other sponsors in 2024, and every year their support is overwhelming and unique, as apart from the tradition awards, journalists are being equipped with knowledge in different areas such as Mental Health. We appreciate such a support to the Malawi Media”, said Matonga.
